Motorists have been warned of potential delays in Ballyhackamore this morning amid reports of a collision on the Upper Newtownards Road heading into the city near North Road.

UPDATE: The below incident has now been cleared, although knock-on delays remain back to Big Barn leaving Bangor.
A crash is causing delays in north Down heading towards Belfast. The collision occurred on the A2 Belfast Road around Ballymenoch Park in Holywood, causing knock on delays back to Seahill. The road is down to one lane as police attend the incident.

M22 reopens after security alert
Sergeant Patton said: “Police received a report shortly after 8.05am today of a suspicious object having been located on the M22, northbound, close to the Dunsilly junction at Antrim.
“The northbound lane was closed between junction 1 (Dunsilly) and junction 2 (Ballygrooby) as police and ammunition technical officers attended the scene.
“A number of controlled explosions were carried out on the object, which has been taken away for further examination.
“It is believed at this stage that this was a hoax device, however, enquiries remain ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who might have any information which could assist, to get in touch.
“The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 225 of 07/10/24.
“A report can be also submitted online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport."

A statement from the PSNI stated: "Motorists are advised to avoid the Ballyblack Road East in Newtownards, as police and colleagues from the emergency services are currently at the scene of a one vehicle road traffic collision. There are diversions in place. Please seek an alternative route for your journey."

A5 re-opened
The A5 has re-opened at its junction with Woodend Road, Strabane and Duncastle Road, Newbuildings. All diversions have been lifted.

M22 closed in both directions due to security alert
Motorists are advised that the M22 is closed in both directions between junction 1 (Dunsilly) and junction 2 (Ballygrooby) due to a security alert.

A5 closed
Road users are advised the A5 is closed this morning, Monday 7th October, at its junction with the Woodend Road, Strabane and Duncastle Road, Newbuildings.
Local diversions are in place and signposted. The road is likely to be closed for some time and an update will be provided in due course.
UPDATE: The PSNI has confirmed the A5 remains closed this morning between its junctions with Leckpatrick Road, Ballymagorry and Woodend Road, Strabane.
All traffic is being diverted via Donemana.
